Una novità verrà rilasciata dal mese di Novembre negli Stati Uniti (al momento in esclusiva).
Si parla del bundle della PlayStation3 con un hard disk di 160 GB, annunciata dalla SCEA.
L'Hard Disk più capiente è stato inserito grazie al progredire del PlayStation Network ed ai continui aggiornamenti scaricabili, infatti gli utenti hanno bisogno sempre di più spazio nella console, ha detto Jack Tretton, il quale aggiunge anche che la PS3 è destinata a diventare il centro dell'intrattenimento digitale per tutti coloro che la utilizzano quotidianamente.
Il bundle comprenderà la PS3 da 160 GB, un DualShock 3 ed il gioco Uncharted: Drake's Fortune al prezzo di 499 dollari.
La data d'uscita per l'Europa è ancora sconosciuta.

As Playstation Network continues to evolve with our recently launched video delivery service and more exclusive games, PS3 owners are demanding more storage capacity, consumers also are utilizing PS3 as an entertainment hub for their digital media, placing content such as their entire music collection on the hard drive. The 160GB PS3 system addresses this growing consumer demand in a compelling bundle that delivers significant value.

Da quanto detto sui giornali giapponesi Monex e Nikkei forse vi è la possibilità di un nuovo modello di Nintendo DS.
Le caratteristiche principali di questa nuova console portatile sarebbero:
- Schermo più grande
- Videocamera integrata
- Riproduzione integrata di musica digitale
- Interscambio di informazioni tra Wii e Ds battraverso le schede di memoria SD
Questo nuovo tipo di console dovrebbe essere rilasciata nel mercato giapponese il Dicembre prossimo al costo di 20.000 yen (130€).

Giungono voci su un possibile restyling della XBOX 360.
Secondo questi rumors stando all'evento a Nuova Delhi la Microsoft avrebbe intenzione di creare una versione Slim della console, la notizia ufficiale dovrebbe essere annunciata l'ultimo mese di quet'anno, immettendo poi sul mercato la versione nuova della consolle nel 2009.

Il creatore della serie di Metal Gear Solid, Hideo Kojima, in una recente intervista con 1UP ha dichiarato di avere qualche idea sul nuovo capitolo del gioco MGS5 (Metal Gear Solid 5), gli piacerebbe avere nuove menti per l'eventuale seguito in cui tutti quanti i fan della serie sperano, anche se le sue congetture potrebbero riportarlo ad essere implicato nuovamente nel progetto.
Ecco una parte dell'intervista:
1UP: So the next game...is the Kojima Productions slate really clean? MGS4 is done, so is there nothing else in development? Because that's what it sounds like. What happens next?
HK: I would like to just make a new game, and the younger staff can work on the new MGS projects. For MGS5, it's very difficult to explain right now because we haven't announced anything. I have really high expectations of my young staff, though. I hope they have learned from their mistakes and that they won't repeat them this time around. But believe me, I also made mistakes on the decision side of things, and I don't want to make those mistakes again, either. I will step in with more courage if I see the staff going down the wrong path again.
I have three concepts for MGS5 already. What would be ideal for me with MGS5, though, is that we don't do those. If the team picks one of those concepts, I have to get involved again, which I don't want to do.
There are already so many good ideas from the staff, so if we select one of those, that would be really good. At that point I could really rely on them and take the step back to be the producer, which is the ideal situation, I think.

Si vocifera che l'attesissimo Home, la nuova comunità virtuale creata da Sony per gli utenti PlayStation3, annunciato e rimandato più volte, entri finalmente nelle nostre console assieme al Firmware 2.50 nell'ormai vicino mese di ottobre.
