Una volta appurato, attraverso dimostrazioni video, quanto sia possibile fare con una Playstation 3 dotata di sistema operativo Linux, attendiamo di passare all'atto pratico.
Alle tante parole spese sull'argomento 'emulazione attraverso Linux' sono finalmente seguiti fatti concreti, in particolare vi segnaliamo il rilascio del codice binario dello SCUMMVM v0.9.1 da utilizzare su Playstation 3 provvista di OS Linux.
Per chi non sconoscesse lo SCUMMVM ricordo che si tratta di un programma in grado di eseguire alcuni dei classici giochi punta e clicca (tra cui molti di quelli sviluppati da LucasArts): Adventure Soft's Simon the Sorcerer 1 e 2; Revolution's Beneath A Steel Sky, Broken Sword 1 e Broken Sword 2; Flight of the Amazon Queen; Wyrmkeep's Inherit the Earth; Coktel Vision's Gobliiins; Westwood Studios' The Legend of Kyrandia, Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max e molti altri.

SCUMMVM v0.9.1 PS3 Binary is basically the emulation code you'd need to use on the Linux in your PS3. ScummVM is an implementation of the SCUMM (Script Creation Utility for Maniac Mansion) engine used in various Lucas Arts games such as Monkey Island and Day of the Tentacle.
At this time ScummVM should be considered ALPHA software, as it's still under heavy development. Be aware that while many games will work with few major bugs, crashes can happen. Also note that saved games can, and probably will, be incompatible between releases.
Also ScummVM is capable of playing several non-SCUMM games.
