that's a bug involving the library that can't see the rmman. but you have to understand that using this solution (rmman) can be a problem.
first of all you exclude automatically the ps2 without the updated dvd player, because you need to use modules from rom1 which are present only in relatively new console (about v5). or the other solution to this problem is a switch but it would require modyfing pad libraries.
the only way to know how to make that built in ir is to reverse engineering the new rmman from never ps2 v8+ there should be something (the original developer had a v5 so he couldn't do this). also i haven't tried changing the configuration of the "use remote in game" option, maybe this would do something
