I agree with what you've said. Of course the modchip is what really brings an end to the battle of the firmware, because there's NOTHING they can do to prevent the modchip allowing you to just run every new firmware they release and paying your ISO's anyway.
Of course I understand that the program is under copyright, but let's face it, you don't really think that'll actually STOP anyone from modifying it anyway. I mean, someone could hack it, do a compare and make a patch to let anyone modify their copy, then release it on the torrent sites. In a few hours it'll be everywhere and there's no way you can stop it.
Copyright is a valid concept and I understand the need for it. I just don't believe it's something that can be enforced on the internet...

Of course, none of this detracts from the fact that this is still may all-time favorite piece of software on my PSP!

Yea, I forgot about torrents because I dont use them because of the speed. They are so dang slow. I dont like waiting hours or days just to complete a download. I even have cable internet and downloads still take that long. Its because you have to upload a bit of the download also to get the rest. Oh well, anyway, yea, it is hard to enforce on the internet. But they can enforce it the best they can though they wont stomp out every site that hosts them. And how many people use torrents?
