- fixed small problem (repeat glitch at the end) related to FLAC decoder (thanks to 'vectis' for the remark/sample clip);
- added suport for FLAC files containing ID3 tags (these are currently ignored) (thanks to 'vectis' for the remark/sample clip);

SMS 2.8 Rev.4
- updated OSD information panel (added available memory indication at IOP side);
- video decoders are redesigned in order to reduce RAM usage;
- implemented 32 bit color resolution for 720p (playback and browser modes) and 1080i (playback mode only) video modes.
Note: synchronization parameter 1 and display position adjustments might be necessary for these modes in order to avoid some screen artefacts.
Note: synchronization parameter 3 was added. This one affects audio playback, so in total there're 3 parameters related to video synchronization:
- parameter 1 is for video clips;
- parameter 2 is for GUI;
- parameter 3 is for audio playback;
These parameters are quite important, so if there're some unwanted screen effects (broken picture during scene motion), screen flickering etc. then adjusting these parameters can remove aforementioned effects. Each video mode has its own independent parameter set. For parameter 1 SMS can approximate its value automatically by choosing 'auto' (formerly '0') value;
- redesigned subtitle management code;
- improved MPEG1/2 scrolling/positioning;
- added 2 "eye candies" (clock and "please wait" indicator);

non mi dite che è quello che penso..ovvero che adesso si possono vedere i filmati 1208*720..è impossibile...chi mi da la smentita?

niente da fare...praticamente è cambaito solo che si sente l'audio e non il video,e ti esce scritto risoluzione troppo grande al posto di non partire..

a me non mi legge nemmeno le foto in jpg, mi dice non supportato, fino a quale risoluzione supporta le immagini, 640x480 ?.
inoltre sono anchio daccordo su vedere i divx dal pendrive per non sforzare l'ottica, eseguendo sms tramite il free mcboot su consolle non modificate, mi da un odioso messaggio di "illegal disc" ogni volta che metto un dvd con dei media file , cosa che sulla play con chip va tranquillamente, ora mi chiedo se con le prossime versioni di SMS riusciranno a rendere compatibile la lettura di cd/dvd anche sulle ps2 non modificate con chip senza questo messaggio di errore.

Credo che questo sia proprio un limite fisico non superabile , dovuto alle modalita' di visualizzazione delle texture della ps2.

Ma chissa' , magari potrebbero aggirarlo in qualche modo , la speranza è l'ultima a morire.

Per quanto riguarda Cd masterizzati non leggibili da ps2 senza chip penso che la cosa è piu' complicata , anche se gli ultimi sviluppi con MCBoot e ESR lo rendono possibile per i giochi quindi chissa'...

This is where ESR comes in, patching the CDVD drivers so that they ignore the DVD-Video filesystem when they see the original filesystem, causing the PS2 to 'see' the original game files. The normal ESR program then invokes the PS2 functions needed to boot the game, allowing you to play it like an original disc.

There is also another variant of the ESR program, which performs similar patching of the CDVD drivers, but finishes off by relaunching "mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF" instead of booting the disc. That will relaunch the main homebrew boot program on the MC, with the added ability of reading the disc content, and that ability is also passed on to secondary ELFs being launched by the main boot program.

I use that feature to relaunch uLE with access to a burned DVD disc both for data and for programs to launch, some of the latter being emulators which when started this way can also access their ROM file collections from the same burned DVD disc, which is pretty good going for a completely unmodded PS2.

Cosi' , passando per la variante dell'ESR (la versione con la dicitura "mcard" ) si riavvia SMS con la possibilita' di leggere Media masterizzati su console chip free.

nono aspetta non ho capito bene cosa c'è scritto,o meglio ho capito solo il senso,ovvero che esiste un modo per avviare esr che poi ti riporta nella schermata di ulanchelf ma con il completo supporto per i dvd masterizzati,ma io se avvio esr senza dvd al più mi si blocca nella schermata colorata!!potresti spiegarmi bene che significa sta cosa??
