PSX Multi-Disc games

Hi, I was playing Final Fantasy IX [NTSC] GH version. While I was in the first disc cwcheat worked just fine, but when the disc change came, I pressed select and I got an empty cheats list.

I created the EBOOT.PBP files from my GH Copy of FF9, and I used the same ID (SLUS_01251) for the 4 CDs, so I can use the memory card saves without problems.
However, it seems that cwcheat is looking for the ID in a different place, because when I press select in Disc 2 and go to the Select Cheats menu option, I get a blank list and a the game has ID: SLUS_01295.

I can fix this by copying the entry in cheatpops.db for the first disc three times and changing the ID for the one that cwcheats is detecting:

_G Final Fantasy IX Disc1
...
_S SLUS_01295
_G Final Fantasy IX Disc2
...
_S SLUS_01296
_G Final Fantasy IX Disc3
...
_S SLUS_01297
_G Final Fantasy IX Disc4
...

I don't know if it's possible to put multiple IDs for a game, or if cwcheat could look in a different place for the disc ID. Because copying the codes would only cause the .db file to grow.

games are referenced by ID.... so just copy and paste your codes with the different ids.

if you're worried about the size of the db... just create a seperate file for the game...

cheat1.db

to load it, just go into the menu to reload the database, change the 0 to 1. you can go up to 255

Thats really not a problem but I guess it's a good way to explain it to people who don't understand.

db can teorically be infinite, and anyway it's text so a game will hardly do more than some kbs.
the id is taken from the iso

hi, im having the same problem posted above. can you tell me how to get cheats to show up for disk 2 of final fantasy 9 or can you send me the cheatpops.db i need? any help would be greatly be appreciated!

While in the game, hold select until CWcheats menu pops up
Look for the Game ID on there and write it down. This changes with each disc of FF9

You can also just take the game IDs posted by Alucard2k since it's probably the same thing. In which case it'd be:
_S SLUS_01251
_G Final Fantasy IX Disc1
...
_S SLUS_01295
_G Final Fantasy IX Disc2
...
_S SLUS_01296
_G Final Fantasy IX Disc3
...
_S SLUS_01297
_G Final Fantasy IX Disc4
...

If you want to use that, just copy the codes from what you already have, highlight the ... and paste over it.


Or you can do things the longer way(it's not really longer, just more directions)
Find cheatpops.db,
open it under wordpad,
ctrl+F Final Fantasy,
look for Final Fantasy 9,
copy the cheats and the game ID,
Scroll all the way to the very top or very bottom for simplicity of pasting,
paste,
Go to the game ID you pasted and change the game ID to the current one
save.

If it doesn't work after that, you might have done something wrong.
