Well if you haven't changed any of the settings in the recovery mode. You should be able to access the VSH menu by pressing the select button from the main menu. If nothing happens, you don't have custom firmware. If something does pop up, just select "reset device" and then hold down the R button.

Weltall, saying that is all well and good, but could you possibly add how to install custom firmware? I've got the same problem and near as I can figure, the only thing I'm missing is this firmware thing. How and where do I get it?

actually there are better places for this than cwcheat packages and forums. anyway check dark-alex.org and get the two packages for 3.90m33 check the first version readme and install it, then install the second version
