now, for the final question (hopefully), what do i have to do to upgrade from -2 to -4.

if i read correctly under "for installing 3.71m33-2 on slims", there loads of stuff including pandora ms (which i still do not understand what it is) and kernel..

Could you please teach me how to update my slim to -4? is it just:

#copy the update folder to GAME folder on your memstick
#scroll to game on you xmb and run the programme

PS: What's XMB? is it the main user interface? when i switch on PSP; where i can scroll ard for music,vdo and games?

Before using CWCheats have to enable it in your custom firmware. Is u use m33-2 then power off your PSP, hold R2 and power on your psp now you are in rescue mode. Go to pluggins and active CWCheats. Now when you start a new game, hold Select and will be shown CWCheat. Good luk ^^

psplw is being dumb it works perfectly fine on 3.80M33 and 3.90M33
