Cheat Searcher Help

Hi Guys & Gals, This has probably been answered before but I can't find a definitive answer.

When using the search for a difference option of the cheat searcher.

Hmm I'll give an example. Say I'm looking for the max value of a health bar for infinite health or Infinite NOS in a racing game. I do my first dump when the energy bar is full then use a bit of NOS/Lose some life and do a search for value is lower than before, then go back to the game and maybe gain a bit of NOS/Health but still lower than my initial full bar value, Do I select value is greater than before or less than before.

I guess what i'm asking is, is the initial value the point of reference for all searches or is it just the value 1 search before.

the check is done always aganist the search before the one you are doing
