In-program cheat addition

Can anyone walk me through adding a cheat in a game using the menu options CWCheat gives? I can't understand anything the wikia is saying, so I want something in easy-to-understand language.

After you got the right address (provided that the game is non-DMA) in the searching, then press triangle and select the address by press X button. After that change the values and hit X again. It will now be on your cheat list, but I think it doesn't save in your database.

You can manually add them into the database, search for it.

So I go to 'Cheat Search' first. What do I select next? I have the following options:

Continue a search for a fixed value
Continue a search for a difference
Continue text search
Start a new search for a fixed value
Start a new search for a difference
Start a text search
Memory editor
Disassembler
Remove all search and dump data

Those are the options I'm given. All I know about the cheat is what I have below:

What number do I search for? What do I change it to? I need a step-by-step walkthrough of how to do this.

EDIT: And what's DMA? I'm playing the game off a UMD, if that makes any difference.

DMA is a pain in the butt. Dynamic Memory Access means that the game accesses the information (HP,Money etc) differently everytime the game starts up. Also changes just by you going into the main menu of a game and then starting a new level, game.

When i created codes before, you had to use breakpoints and stuff to track down the exact instructions of where the game takes the info, does something to it and then put it back into the game. You'd have to change the middle process to whatever you want, the game then puts your process back into the game. IE when you collect money, you could add the process to give you one million, the game then puts that info back into the game... voila!

EDIT: Technically playing offa UMD or iso wouldn't make a difference, the game still accesses the game information dynamically...

DMA is Dynamic Memory Allocation, anyway. You just have to know that if the game is DMA, it means the address will change. If the game is non-DMA the address will not change.

swk3000, you already have the cheat codes you want, what you need to do now is, put the code together with the game you're cheating on in cheat.db

I know that, but I don't know how to do that. Everything I see uses a lot of complicated programming language I don't understand. According to Welltall, I need to convert the database file to dos, then edit it there, but I don't know how to do that. What program do I need to use to open the database? How do I use it to put everything in? To make it quite clear (and please excuse the yelling),

I HAVE NO F***ING IDEA WHAT I HAVE TO DO TO EDIT THE DATABASE.

Again, I'm sorry for the yelling, but everything I'm looking at seems to think I've taken years of programming classes, and can look at a line of code and see exactly what it says, and know exactly what to do to modify it. That's not the case. I have a High School Diploma (I live in the US), and that's it. I have no expirience with this sort of coding, and everyone's giving me quick replies of 'Edit the database', but fails to realize that, when it comes to doing that, I'm about as smart as the average rock. I need my hand held for this, as that's the only way I'm going to get this done; if no-one's willing to do it, I'm just going to keep asking, and I'm going to get more and more angry, and the yelling will come more often. I know I shouldn't be yelling, but I've been trying to get this thing working for 2 weeks now, and in that time, I've gone from, "What program uses this cheat?" to "Well, I know what program uses it, and I've downloaded and installed said program. Now, how do I actually use this cheat?" That's only 1 step forward, and it's taken forever to get that far. All I want is help with this one cheat; then I'll be out of everyone's hair, and you'll never have to listen to me whine again. Just, please, help me do this so I can stop begging for help that no-one seems willing to give. Seriously, am I really that offensive that no-one cares to help me?

First of all, I apologize again for the yelling. I hope I didn't offend anyone (though I probably did). One step forward after 2 weeks is enough to get anyone frustrated. Sorry.

I've downloaded and extracted the editor; hopefully, it's easy enough to use. I'm running through the help manual right now, so we'll find out if it works soon enough. Thank you for the link. Wish me luck.

First of all, I'm sorry for the Double Post, but I can't figure out how to delete my last post. If I could, I'd delete it.

Second of all, I added the cheat using the Database Editor, then saved the new Database file onto my Memory Stick. When I went into the game and opened CWCheat to enable the cheat, it wasn't on the list. I did everything correctly, so why won't the cheat show up in the list?

maybe the game isn't the same. always check the id technically wise a game with a different id is normally a completely different game
