I found it, and I'll try it out.

Seems it gave the wrong second line when I tried to get the cheat from it.

The second line was 0x00002001 0x00000018, but I had to change it to 0x00020001 0x00000018 otherwise it didn't work.

Sorry for the double post but...

What exactly does it mean to have this...

0x40CA9050 0x000C0018
0x3B9AC9FF 0x00000000

Oh wait, is that a repeater?

How do I search for timers in a game like Midnight Club L.A. ?
1:30:20 not sure to search for 65 or 130 or would I have to convert it to another value to search for?

Also I have tried to search for 1st place but only find a value that is 1st visual but i'm really still in 3rd place. would the code be close to this visual value still?

any help on this would be great maybe some values I can try and search for or any help in some detail to go about searching for real always 1st place & Timers (clock)...

i got the pointer searcher thing , but how do i know / find the adress i wanted it to be ?

like example i want to know / find the adress of GOLD , how am i be able to find that address?

Don't know why you're quoting me... I don't even particularly care about the issue. I just wanted to point out that people should refer to the FAQ first.

I have neither the time nor the inclination to go searching for similar threads regarding an issue that I don't even have. FYI.

Really great tutorials, when I was a kid, I thought this was a mystery
but to be honest I have a stupid question, I hope you answer, I know that you defined DMA and non DMA games, but I want to know the exact difference and some examples of known games.

As far as PSP games go? Any game with a pointer code in the cheat database is one that uses DMA, basically. So if you see a code that starts with the address of 0x6XXXXXXX, then that's a code made using a pointer, meaning that the game uses DMA (at least in some parts).
As far as the exact difference is: DMA games change the memory address at level change, etc., so you can't just find the address for a desired value and be done with it. You've got to find the pointer; an address whose value is the current memory address of the desired value.

Check out a site like gamehacking.com (world of game hacking) and read up on some things there to get clarification on the various terms and techniques used in game hacking. Note that while that site certainly isn't PSP specific, MANY of the concepts and techniques are applicable.

If you have any queries about the practical application of said techniques in regards to PSP hacking, make a reply in the appropriate thread or make a new thread.
