Does anybody know how one would go about finding the address of an unknown value like the location of your character in order to make a teleport cheat?

Nothing wrong with the old one, imo.

What are you having trouble with?

Im trying to find codes for fifa 09, but can't seem to figure out how to. I can't seem to find a valid address with the methods of the last couple of tut. Then I try to re-invent the already existed codes for the game but can't either. So I just thougth that there was another level of cwcheat code making that I dont know yet.

EDIT- Nvm, I fully understood now what DMA means when it comes to PSP scene.

But can someone answer this question:

Why does some games with different regions have the same codes ... any explanation, please?

It's rare when this happens, in my experience. I just assume that different region versions have different codes, unless proven otherwise... it's just easier that way. The only game I've noticed that has the same codes across regions was Resistance: Retribution.
As to why it's done that way? I'd say lazy coding? Tough to tell, don't need to know anyway.

In most cases the different languages are the cause for the differences.
The Games usually load some plain readable text into memory.
ie Card/Item/Equipment/Character/whatever lists
(Japanese text is of course not readable unless you speak UTF8 fluently)

The US differs from the Japanese because of the different word lengths after translation.
The EU differs from US & J because of multiple lists being stored in RAM at the same time.

If a game has the same adresses in any version it's usually because
1. no text whatsoever is loaded into RAM
2. the data part is stored at the top of RAM with no text above
3. there is only one language in all versions
4. there are all translations present in all versions

I hope that clears up a few things

how would you find the address where you can compare the button codes to it? Say, like pressing L + select to activate a cheat?
