ICONA NEWS PSP [Help] Pops Codes Dissappear

I was playing FFIX just fine and then it froze on me (after a long period without saving, yay ><), no big deal.

I boot up the game again and the cheats just aren't showing up. the cwcheat interface pops up, all the functions are there....just not the actual codes themselves. I'm on 5.50 Gen-A, I have deleted the seplugins folder and copied it over from the latest rar, made sure the prc was diabled and then enabled and it just won't seem to recognize the codes. I tried making copies and loafing the db manually, and nothing. I am truly at a loss here.

the CWC gui recognizes what game i'm playing, correct game ID and all, and the ID matches the ID in the .db file, but when i hit "selevt cheats" i just get a whole bunch of blankness.

Load up your cheat.db in a text editor (not notepad however...), and look for garbage characters, particularly before and after the entry for your game. Sometimes garbage, new lines, and duplication of existing db entries is written to the db, it seems to be a minor bug that weltall had trouble stomping out.

So go in there and remove the garbage, make sure the game-id is correct, and the rest of the format is good, and it should sort you out.

Update us on whether this works or not...

As it turns out, while CWC was recognizing the game just fine, it was NOT reading the GAME ID right. so, a quick fix of what was in the DB to what the game was actually reading and presto-chango!

Thanks for the input, though. The idea to look for the junk (which was not there, and I still have no idea WHY this all ended up happening!) was integral in thinking about looking at IDs and whatnot.
