Need some help applying codes...

So I've used the file editing/comparing functionality in the program ArtMoney (A mem hacker/debugger) to come up with three addresses that I believe contain the points/$ value for Metal Gear Acid 2 (ULUS10077).

Here are the codes I'm adding to the cheat.db, but it's not working (properly):

_L 0x002A0DE0 0x0098967F
_L 0x00CC1128 0x0098967F
_L 0x00CC112C 0x0098967F

Once I activate the entry in the code list, and return to the game, *SOMETHING* happens a few seconds later and the points/$ value changes, but not to the 9999999 that I think it's supposed to.

Am I messing something up? Between the instructions not being clear because of language barriers and people's examples in posts here assuming certain things, I'm still not sure if I'm doing it right.

Any help would be appreciated, and in turn I'll post up some codes once I get the hang of it.

BTW, the cheat finder application that's included with CWcheat is fucking terrible, no offense to the creator. It's unusably slow... it takes 20+ minutes to analyze the dump, whereas i can do the first pass in ArtMoney in under 30 seconds. It's pretty much inexcusable... so sort that out, or point people towards alternatives. I'd imagine it'd be totally discouraging to game hacking newbies.

Again, not trying to step on anyone's toes, but it's more of a critique.

I'm running into the same kind of problem with Metal Gear Acid 1 (ULUS10006). I'm trying to change the points but somethings not right. Doing the search I came up with _L 0x101D64F8. Messing around with different numbers it seems everything over a certain amount would change the points but not to the number I was trying to change to. Also each time I couldn't save. It would lock up and shut down the PSP if I tried to save after changing the number of points.

See, that was what I was talking about, some things in the docs not being so clear. I thought that bit had to be changed to 0,1, or 2 depending on the size of the value, but I thought you did it to the SECOND hex value... i.e. the value you want it to change to.

Maybe I should re-write the english docs, or at least make a newbie guide

I knew I was doing most of it right, as I managed to freeze the remaining number of packs in the card shop, so you can buy as many as you want, instead of the limit of 10. Here is the code:

These program is faster than CW Cheat Finder?... you can use with MEMDUMPS?

Edit: I test it, and make a complete check in 2 seconds!!! WOW!!! CW Cheat Finder SUCKS!

Yeah, it's a thousand times better... and more functions too.

I was getting really frustrated, and knew there had to be a better alternative. I recommend this for everyone, it'll save you tons of time.
