Per la prima volta il processore Cell viene impiegato in un dispositivo che non è una PlayStation 3. Namco Bandai, infatti, potrà installare l'ormai celeberrima CPU nei propri cabinati Arcade. L'accordo si estende ad altre componenti di PlayStation 3, chip grafico RSX incluso. Il primo gioco che sfrutterà questa tecnologia sarà, come prevedibile, Tekken 6. L'ultimo episodio della popolare serie di picchiaduro prodotta da Namco verrà rilasciato anche in versione PlayStation 3 nel corso del 2007. Questa sarà anche la data di disponibilità del coin-op per sala giochi. Sony sta recentemente sfruttando il processore Cell in maniera più capillare, anche nell'ottica di ammortizzare gli elevati costi di progettazione e produzione. Negli ultimi giorni, infatti, è stato annunciato l'importante accordo con l'Università di Stanford riguardante il programma Folding@Home.

Vi assiscuro che le sale giochi vanno un casino, almeno dove abito io in provincia di milano. E' enorme e ci sono un sacco di cabinati. La sera è sempre strapieno.

No che spreco -.- chissà quanto costa la scheda almeno il doppio della Ps3 e poi per cosa??Tk6 mha...
Cmq certi giochi andrebbero giocati solo sul cabinato (vedi pikkiaduro e shoot em up)
