umount [-hV]

umount -a [-dflnrv] [-t vfstype] [-O options]
umount [-dflnrv] dir | device [...]

DESCRIPTION
The umount command detaches the file system(s) mentioned from the file
hierarchy. A file system is specified by giving the directory where it
has been mounted. Giving the special device on which the file system
lives may also work, but is obsolete, mainly because it will fail in
case this device was mounted on more than one directory.

Note that a file system cannot be unmounted when it is ‘busy’ - for
example, when there are open files on it, or when some process has its
working directory there, or when a swap file on it is in use. The
offending process could even be umount itself - it opens libc, and libc
in its turn may open for example locale files. A lazy unmount avoids
this problem.

Options for the umount command:

-V Print version and exit.

-h Print help message and exit.

-v Verbose mode.

-n Unmount without writing in /etc/mtab.

-r In case unmounting fails, try to remount read-only.

-d In case the unmounted device was a loop device, also free this
loop device.

-i Don’t call the /sbin/umount.<filesystem> helper even if it
exists. By default /sbin/umount.<filesystem> helper is called if
one exists.

-a All of the file systems described in /etc/mtab are unmounted.
(With umount version 2.7 and later: the proc filesystem is not
unmounted.)

-t vfstype
Indicate that the actions should only be taken on file systems
of the specified type. More than one type may be specified in a
comma separated list. The list of file system types can be pre‐
fixed with no to specify the file system types on which no
action should be taken.

-O options
Indicate that the actions should only be taken on file systems
with the specified options in /etc/fstab. More than one option
type may be specified in a comma separated list. Each option
can be prefixed with no to specify options for which no action
should be taken.

-f Force unmount (in case of an unreachable NFS system). (Requires
kernel 2.1.116 or later.)

-l Lazy unmount. Detach the filesystem from the filesystem hierar‐
chy now, and cleanup all references to the filesystem as soon as
it is not busy anymore. (Requires kernel 2.4.11 or later.)

THE LOOP DEVICE
The umount command will free the loop device (if any) associated with
the mount, in case it finds the option ‘loop=...’ in /etc/mtab, or when
the -d option was given. Any pending loop devices can be freed using
‘losetup -d’, see losetup(8).

NOTES
The syntax of external umount helpers is:

/sbin/umount.<suffix> [-nlfvr] dir | device

where the <suffix> is filesystem type or a value from "uhelper=" mtab
option.
/etc/fstab file (e.g devices mounted by HAL).

Alla fine ho formattato e reinstallato tutto...

Sono riuscito per ora a cambiare risoluzione e ad impostare i 1080p, incredibilmente dopo mi si e´ anche attivato l' audio sull' HDMI!

la prima cosa che dovresti fare è configurare il tuo monitor per inizializzare correttamente la risoluzione all'avvio. Per determinare la corretta risoluzione per il tuo schermo, usa uno strumento chiamato ps3videomode. Puo essere eseguito da un terminale ([Applicazioni] > [Accessori] > [Terminale]) scrivendo:

ps3videomode -h

ps3videomode restuirà una lista di risoluzioni supportate, con un numero davanti che rappresenta la modalità:

YUV 60Hz 1:480i 2:480p 3:720p 4:1080i 5:1080p
YUV 50Hz 6:576i 7:576p 8:720p 9:1080i 10:1080p
RGB 60Hz 33:480i 34:480p 35:720p 36:1080i 37:1080p
RGB 50Hz 38:576i 39:576p 40:720p 41:1080i 42:1080p
VESA 11:WXGA 12:SXGA 13:WUXGA

Se hai un monitor “Full HD” con risoluzione 1920×1080, usa le modalità 1080i o 1080p. Se invece la tua TV è “HD Ready”, usa una delle modalità 720p (3, 8, 35 or 40).

Testare le diverse modalità video

Per controllare come una risoluzione funziona sul tuo sistema, hai bisogno di stoppare e riavviare Gnome desktop manager (gdm) tra un test e l'altro. Apriamo un terminale come abbiamo fatto prima ([Applicazioni] > [Accessori] > [Terminale]) e inseriamo nome utente e password.

Ora stoppiamo gdm:

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm stop

Scegliamo un modalità video temporale usando ps3videomode -v e uno numero (quelli della tabella di sopra), quindi scriviamo:

ps3videomode -v 5

o

ps3videomode -v 42 -f

(entrambi i comandi rappresentano varie modalità 1080p. Puoi sostituire questo numero con uno qualsiasi ricavato dalla tabella di sopra).

Avviamo ora gdm usando la nuova modalità video con

sudo /etc/init.d/gdm start

Mettere la risoluzione permanente

Quando hai trovato una risoluzione adatta al tuo televisore, facciamo in modo che ubuntu carichi questa risoluzione ogni volta che si avvia. Apriamo un terminale e scriviamo:

sudo nano /etc/event.d/ps3videomode

Questo comando avvierà l'editor di testo nano con un file vuoto che si chiamerà ps3videomode nella cartella event.d . In questo file scriveremo:

start on runlevel 2
exec /usr/bin/ps3videomode -v 0

Rimpiazza lo 0 con un numero adatto alla tua risoluzione.

In nano, salva il file con Ctrl + o. Premi invio per confermare.
Poi Ctrl + x per uscire da nano.

Adesso dovresti ravviare il sistema. Al riavvio dovresti avere la risoluzione da te scelta.
