Sony conferma: taglio di prezzo di 100$ e versione da 80GB!!!

La divisione americana di Sony Computer Entertainment tramite David Karraker ha confermato che la PS3 da 60GB subirà un taglio di prezzo di 100$ in Nord America e che a partire da agosto sarà rilasciata la versione con hard disk da 80GB in bundle col gioco Motorstorm al prezzo di 599$.

La versione con hard disk più grande si spiega anche con l'intento di sony di avviare un servizio di download di film in alta definizione.

Nella press realease vengono anche annunciati per la fine dell'anno fiscale quindi all'incirca entro la fine di marzo 2008 120 giochi in arrivo di cui 15 in esclusiva.

Non si sa ancora nulla circa un taglio di prezzo in Europa e negli altri territori.

Following the confirmation of the PlayStation 3 price cut for North America, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) has given GamesIndustry.biz a heads up regarding the console pricing for their side of the Atlantic.

According to the report, the announcement will be made during the E3 Media and Business Summit (to be held on July 11 to 13). Reportedly, the announcement will cover the price cut announcement made by SCEA - from US$ 599 to US$ 499 - and the debut of the new 80GB PS3. The new model will come bundled with a copy of MotorStorm and will sell for US$ 599.

This is certainly something to look forward to for the fellows in Europe, especially for those who have been saving up for Sony's console. Currently, the PS3 sells at GBP 425 (EUR 599, or around US$ 850).
